Tameer Foundation is a registered charitable foundation under the Indian Trust Act, 1882, and is established by Mir Muzaffar U Zaman. Tameer Foundation’s focus is to work for the welfare of the acid attack victims, senior citizens, orphans, women, and abandoned animals. After the successful completion of the initial phase, Tameer aims to deeply explore the fields of Education, Childcare, Healthcare, Women Empowerment, Adoption, and Animal Shelter and contribute to the development of the society. Tameer believes that everyone deserves the chance to fight for not only their survival but for their better and brighter future. Here, Tameer (an Urdu word), stands for Construction. At Tameer Foundation, we want to construct an environment full of hope, care, compassion, courage, and possibilities. Here, we are determined to serve with utmost sincerity and give warmth to those who are left unattained. We want to create a self-sustainable community in form of Tameer so that it can efficiently work to fulfill the needs of the necessitous, spread awareness, empower the weak and share the knowledge. As we prosper, we aim to collaborate with different institutions, peer NGOs, trusts, businesses, and government to explore the working of different fields, share learning and experimentation of organizational development models
To bring a positive and progressive change to those affected by the humanitarian crisis so that they can have equal opportunities and can move forward courageously with intact dignity and confidence.
At Tameer, we want to give hope, warmth, and courage to those who are being neglected, discarded and being deprived of their rights. Also creating a network of NGOs, businesses, government, and media for easy navigation and implementation of the tasks.
Acceptance: Because acceptance is the key to
change.
Care: Because a simple word of care can warm
one’s
gloomy day and lighten one’s darkest moments.
Compassion: Because sometimes being
understanding
and sympathetic is all it takes.
Courage: Because it requires a great deal of
strength to stand up again and fight to right the wrong.
Determination: Because it was never easy and
never
will be.
Respect: Because to get it, you’ve to give
it.
The target group Tameer is focussing
on, involves the group of elderly, acid attack survivors,
orphans, women, and stray animals. The senior citizens and orphans who are left alone and can't
take care of themselves often feel lonely and helpless. Many of them are forced to beg and live
a humiliating life. This group is also the most susceptible to become victims of human and organ
trafficking.
The elders who are dependent on their families for their livelihood are often mistreated at home
and are victims of domestic abuse. They not only suffer physically but also suffers from mental
traumas and depression. The acid attack survivors also suffer severely from physical,
psychological and mental scars. They are also faced with social exclusion sometimes. Both groups
find themselves being detached from society and compromise a lot living in constant fear and
suppression.
The crime against women such as domestic violence, gender inequality, rape, etc. has
tremendously increased in the last few decades. Although women have become a lot stronger and
can fight for their rights, a greater part of the group is suffering due to societal norms and
beliefs.
The last target group belongs to the lost, abandoned or stray animals. They are often left to
live on the roads and become the victims of accidents, severe beatings, and even sexual assault.
